Challenged by the Hopes & Dreams Club in partnership with Adobe, I made a dynamic portrait of Serafina, a sprinter from Amsterdam now living on Australia’s Sunshine Coast. My goal was to capture her speed and power through various mediums and experimental techniques.

Working with limited resources posed some challenges, such as lighting. I didn’t have time to reposition the lights, which occasionally ended up in the frame. Fortunately, I used generative fill to remove them seamlessly.

Generative fill also allowed me to create a thermal camera effect without needing actual thermal equipment. Additionally, Photoshop’s “select subject” and “remove background” features were invaluable in speeding up the editing process, particularly for the collages. Despite the constraints, I aimed to deliver a high production value piece.
